A NOTE SENT TO YOU - WRITTEN WITH LOVE....
MUSINGS ON BOTANICAL BEAUTY, ART, FASHION AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT IS ROCKING MY WORLD RIGHT NOW.
Do you pine for one of Lady Mary's gowns like I do? Concerned it might look a bit odd wearing one to the grocery? Find out how to incorporate the Downton Style with modern day looks at this post from the blog - Marie Antoinette's Gossip Guide to the 18th Century.
Fancy a roll in the hay? Spas in the South Tyrol region of Italy are offering therapeutic baths with a special warm, fermented Alpine hay. This use of this treatment has been documented as early as 1873. The hay, containing a variety of plants such as lady's mantle, arnica and valerian, is said to improve circulation, soothe and refresh. Read more and watch the luxurious video of this treatment at the Hotel Heubad.
With winter finally upon us here in Michigan, I look for every opportunity for warming self-care. Here is a wonderful article from the Chopra Center on the benefits and technique of Abhyanga massage. It includes oil suggestions for different doshas (find out your dosha here) and includes a wonderful instructional video. My favorite oil for my Vata-Pitta Abhyanga? Sesame or coconut oil with a drop of warming black pepper. And I love me some Deepak.
Winter is red wine weather. Why not kick it up a notch with an herb and spice infused wine? Here is a great recipe at Mountain Rose Herbs.
I recently visited one of my favorite pieces of art at the Detroit Institute of Art - Wisteria Gates (1914-1915). Just gorgeous. Can't make it in person? You can get a closer look here.
That is all for today, my lovelies. Will write again soon...
